  Why MiniLauncher?

Q. What and why. Where does this idea come from?
A. In PalmOs there is the programmer's view on the program organization task, but as a user I always wanted to have a mechanism which would join the most wanted programs from the different categories and which would allow me to quickly find and start the necessary functions:

• iSilo, Palm Reader, Adobe Reader from the category "The reading"


• Photoalbum


• The couple of games Astraware-Bejeweled and Alchemy - well, it is classic!


• Filez


• Blazer


• Program is for the decision making and the development of intuition: I do use the Cockroach Race and quite often.


• Of course the add-on programs are necessary from time to time: the calculator and HotSync.
• Couple games for my child – she does not have Palm yet (she is only 9), but she’ got Nokia N-GAGE QD, but she still gladly uses Palm for playing.

Thus the idea of MiniLauncher was born – “everything is at hand” and “Start at two clicks”!!

Q. So, I don’t need any other launcher? I use…… and I don’t like it.
A. MiniLauncher is the addition to the main Launcher or any other Launcher, such as ZLauncher, MegaLauncher, XLauncher – they can and must be used further, MiniLauncher allows you to make the selection of the most frequently used programs and launch them in two clicks only! But again, the last 8 launched programs are always at hand.

Q. I set up the MiniLauncher, what now?
A. Now you must connect the launching of MiniLauncher to the key – to achieve that start MiniLauncher with your favorites Launcher and choose the key you want to use for working with MiniLauncher, it can be one of “hard” keys or the key of your calculator (the favorites).

Q. Which key is better to use for MiniLauncher launching?
A. From our point of view, the most convenient key is the calculator key (the favorites), It is easy to press it with your thumb and to use same finger to launch and necessary function!! You don’t need Stylus!!

Q. Does MiniLauncher support the key-navigation?
A. No, MiniLauncher supports the concept “Launching in two clicks”, first click – and the MiniLauncher window appears, second click – the selected function is launched. That’s all! No navigation! Two finger touches is enough!

Q. I noticed the programs I didn’t have before, like The Moon-Phase, Cube-game, Astrological Signs. What are these?
A. These are the MiniLauncher program-expansions. 4 program-expansions come together with MiniLauncher as a feature – now the Moon-phase is always at hand, if you are sensitive to them just like myself, in this case this expansion will be absolutely handy. It is my favorite expansion! If you need to make a decision, but you are hesitating, the Cubes will help?.

Q. Which of the MiniLauncher expansions are already available? Can I get the expansion for myself?
A. Now 4 expansions are available: Moon-phases, Astrological Signs, Cubes, My girls (calendar). The expansions can be added without the reinstalling the ML and soon enough there will be a lot of them! Any ideas or applications for a new expansions development must be sent to the author’s address, all of them will be considered and the most interesting will be negotiated.

Q. Is there MiniLauncher for PalmOs 4.0?
A. Yes, there is. But it is not that convenient. But it is free! Install MiniLauncher on Palm, then connect MiniLauncher to the one of the available keys.

Q. Can MiniLauncher be used without Stylus?
A. Yes! The icons of the most often used expansions are purposefully made large so you can’t miss it with your finger.

Q. Can the MiniLauncher read the program-launching from the memory card?
A. Yes, it can.

Q. There are no programs without bugs. Are there any known bugs in the MiniLauncher?
A. There is one known unsolved bug: while launching the Astraware game from the memory card, if the memory is not enough – Astraware shows you a warning dialog, pressing on the “Ok” button will restart the system. Solution: do not press “ok” button, but rather press “Home” button and move to the standard Launcher or alternatively launch another program on the MiniLauncher.
